Hey all my name is Samantha, I'm 32 from England. Engaged. I have been handcrafting cards since I can remember from making mothers day cards at nursery to selling them to friends and family now. I love seeing the reactions on peoples faces when you make a unique handcrafted card just for them. I have also been a keen scrapbooker/photographer since I was about 5 when my parents started to foster and I always kept a scrapbook for each child we cared for - which goes with them to their new families so they don’t forget any precious memories of their childhood.

The Gypsy & The Witch | Smash Book - November - Magical Mythos

Good Evening All

Another month has passed and another installment of The Gypsy & The Witch which is a Creative Journaling Journey.

Please join us here monthly on the 15th for a different theme each month as "The Gypsy and The Witch"- Create a Journaling Journey Together by Spreading a Message of Love and Positivity

This month's theme is "Magical Mythos"

I love Mermaids and watching documentaries where they are trying to prove their existence but they never look like the Little Mermaid from Disney!

As you know I am rubbish at drawing. I found 2 images on google and merged together to make my mermaid. Or you could just use a free colouring images but I wasn't a fan of the top half of the image so used image drawn by Eaglefriend.

I used paint for the background but used markers for Mermaid and the shells as the detail was too small to paint.

I found a quote online which reads - "Mermaid Myth #2 Mermaids are already full of confidence and do not require the validation of their reflection. To the Mermaid, a mirror is simply a portal from which to draw magical abilities."

If you search on YouTube for The Gypsy & The Witch to watch videos uploaded today for this event.

Sam's Scrapbook Process : Day of the Dead

So today hasn't been the best as we said final farewells to my Nan who passed away last Friday and between then and today has been the longest week waiting for the funeral!

The day went as well as expected but when I came home I just wanted to distract myself so sat in craftroom and with fresh photos of my Nieces from Halloween sitting on desk I thought I would scrap them.

The first layout is Amelia dressed as a Corpse Bride dragging her groom to the alter which will be me and Adam if he doesn't get his finger out and let me book our wedding only been waiting 11 years :-) Her face painting is very Day of the Dead so that's where initial inspiration came from. If I was very brave and not a chicken I'd get a sugar skull tattoo ... shhh don't tell mam lol! 31 year old and not allowed a tattoo!

The digital kit I used was the Day of the Dead doodles by Kate Hadfield
The sugar skull is just from google and glitter and gem letter stickers from the poundshop.
