Easter Tag Swap

Me and my friend Nicole (AKA Nasn00 on YouTube) decided to do a Tag Swap as we have both never made one before. Since Easter is coming up we thought this was a fitting theme and we both went with that.

I have been super swamp with work lately and my dieting hasnt been going well I have only lost 3 pound in about 4 weeks, but being truthful with you I have not had the willpower to try!! So I have been vetitating most nights afterwork then Nicole posted her vid of her finished tag and I hadnt even started EKK!

So this is what I made last night.

I am still not sure about it, it is easter colours/flowers and butterflys the bunny I was going to put on looked far too big!!

Dedication for Somer Thompson

Sarah aka "kaczsk" did a call out on YouTube to pull the scrapbooking community together to create a mini-album page in dedication to Somer Thompson.

It is a very sad story, I dont have children so I can only imagine how hard it has been for Diena (Somer's Mam) So I think this is a lovely idea to help Diena scrap and celebrate her daughters life.

Somer's favourite colour was purple so I went with this for the theme. I didnt have much choice with patterned paper as I only had 2-3 in as purple isnt one of my fav colours for crafting.

Easter Layout

I am still working on the scrapbook for Layla (the baby my parents are fostering). I have one more Christmas page to do for her and I am up to date, but with the printer not working I cant print the photos out to get the layout right. I thought I would do her next page which will be Easter. We always get photos of the kids with thier chocolate eggs and egg hunting in the garden. I am such a big kid I hide the cream eggs around the garden and make them go find them before they can have them. LOL evil I know but my parents did it with me! The age of my adopted brothers and sisters now 12 and over they are getting a bit too old but if they want the chocolate they have to find them first LOL!!

This is a 12x12 layout inspired by desdichaedo from youtube (Life on the {Scrap}beach) she is a fab crafter and I love her scrapbook tutorials, you should all subscribe!! She did a super cute Easter Egg page and this got me thinking about Easter pages for Layla and Amelia.

Looking at it now its finished I should of really inked the edges of the eggs to make them stand out a little. Never mind they are stuck down now.

This rabbit is cut from a baby scrapbook page I got free with a scrapbook, I hated the paper but the rabbit was cute. I think I will do a paper pieced lamb on Amelia's page as I dont have another rabbit, plus I found this cute template.

Birthday Cards

So I said in my last post I would finish and upload the last page of Amelia's photo shoot scrapbook page but my printer has decided to act up and I can't print the last 4 photos off... Argh! I hate my printer!!

I have 2 birthdays coming up so I used paper from kits I had available from my last big haul in Nov (from America)

My friend Andrea across the road from me (she also is a crafter) it's her 30th Birthday on Saturday coming so I am buying her a mini haul and this is the card I have made her.

I used:

It is also her Daughter Llani's 4th birthday a few days later so I made her card while I was in the mood.

I have no idea who makes this paper I bought it from a local craft shop in town ages ago and it was too cute to use but since the printer wasnt working I had to use it.
This is a big chipboard 4 covered in S.E.I Aunt Gerti's Garden - Sun kissed (pink) and I used a card sticker tab from S.E.I Penelope's Potpourri.

Both pretty plain cards but cute I think :-)

2 Page Scrapbook Layout

As mentioned in a previous blog I had some more photos of my baby niece Amelia from when my brother took her for a professional photo sitting back in July 2009.
I finally got round to doing a 2 page layout. I have one more page to do which I will post pretty soon.

This is a 2 page 8x8 layout.

I printed the photos together on the computer and put a pink/brown in the back ground so it wouldnt have a big white stripe down the middle. I stamped the month and year on the S.E.I Tab.

I mounted the Label on brown cardstock and popped this up with 3D foam tape. The flower is just different size circles cut with my scallop scissors which had troubles cutting in circles so they are not perfect but unless I used a die or my cricut they wont be. I also tried out my new Mallow Blaze Mister on the cream card on the flower and inked the edges in brown, roughed them up a little and added a button.

I will try and get the final page of Amelia's photo sitting done this weekend.

Cherry Card

First off I have changed the blog template as I was getting bored with the Spots/dots background and I have no idea how to create my own!

I have a box of chipboard pieces which I haven't looked at for ages and I found this super cute cherry in. I got a card/letter from a distant relative so I think I will use this for my reply as it is nice and bright.

I have no idea who the paper is from as it was in a mini paper stack I got ages ago but i thought the colours matched with the cherry.

I cut the circles with my cricuit - George and Basics.
I used my Friskars Tredding water punch for the border
Scrap white ribbon
The "Just Because" is from a mini dove stamp set which I cant remember the name of.

I think the little fruit cards are super cute at the minute - I've seen a few by Robyn "mypinkstamper"

I've wanted some for ages and I got these relatively cheap from Crafters Companion (local for me)

The colours are gorgeous the Aqua and meadow remind me of the colours of a Peacock's tail!
I wanted to make mini flowers and spray them with this mist and I didnt have any of the drier sheets I wanted to try this with. So was raking in the cupboard and look what I found - Adam's polishing clothes :-) they are made from same material as the drier sheets and they are bigger so can cut more flowers and I think this box was only £2 from Lidl

I think I will see if I can cut some flowers with this later today and upload the evidence later.

Sympathy Card

Unfortunately we had some sad news at the weekend my great aunt Beatie died, she had been in and out of a coma for a week or so and it wasn't good. My poor great uncle Jimmy is beside himself without her .. bless!

My nan asked me to make a sympathy card and I have never made one before and this is what I came up with.

I have no idea who the paper is buy i got it from eBay a few years ago and I found it while I was clearing up.

So I printed 2 of the crosses out and embossed one with silver embossing powder and cut the cross out of the other one I coloured to give it a little depth.

My ever so honest soon to be hubby said he thinks it is a little morbid being all blacks and plums.

What do you guys think? Should I give him it or is it too dark?
