Cherry Card

First off I have changed the blog template as I was getting bored with the Spots/dots background and I have no idea how to create my own!

I have a box of chipboard pieces which I haven't looked at for ages and I found this super cute cherry in. I got a card/letter from a distant relative so I think I will use this for my reply as it is nice and bright.

I have no idea who the paper is from as it was in a mini paper stack I got ages ago but i thought the colours matched with the cherry.

I cut the circles with my cricuit - George and Basics.
I used my Friskars Tredding water punch for the border
Scrap white ribbon
The "Just Because" is from a mini dove stamp set which I cant remember the name of.

I think the little fruit cards are super cute at the minute - I've seen a few by Robyn "mypinkstamper"

Mini Haul
I got some misters from Cosmic Shimmer I havent tried them out yet!!
Aqua Lagoon
Meadow Lush
Mallow Blaze

I've wanted some for ages and I got these relatively cheap from Crafters Companion (local for me)

The colours are gorgeous the Aqua and meadow remind me of the colours of a Peacock's tail!
I wanted to make mini flowers and spray them with this mist and I didnt have any of the drier sheets I wanted to try this with. So was raking in the cupboard and look what I found - Adam's polishing clothes :-) they are made from same material as the drier sheets and they are bigger so can cut more flowers and I think this box was only £2 from Lidl

I think I will see if I can cut some flowers with this later today and upload the evidence later.

Sympathy Card

Unfortunately we had some sad news at the weekend my great aunt Beatie died, she had been in and out of a coma for a week or so and it wasn't good. My poor great uncle Jimmy is beside himself without her .. bless!
My nan asked me to make a sympathy card and I have never made one before and this is what I came up with.

I have no idea who the paper is buy i got it from eBay a few years ago and I found it while I was clearing up.

So I printed 2 of the crosses out and embossed one with silver embossing powder and cut the cross out of the other one I coloured to give it a little depth.

My ever so honest soon to be hubby said he thinks it is a little morbid being all blacks and plums.

What do you guys think? Should I give him it or is it too dark?

All comments are welcome :-)

Lovebirds Anniversary Card

Happy Valentines day everyone xxxx
Its my parents 28th Wedding anniversary today (Valentines Day - some may say aww sweet but to be honest I think its a little cheesy lol)

Birds in crafting at the minute are very hot and I think they are adorable.

My parents used to have love birds when I was little so I thought it appropriate to use this on their card.

I didn't have and chipboard birds so I searched online and the lovely Alex AKA Lola Nova had created a template for making a tote bag with this design on the front and as I am not an avid sewer I thought I'd change it up a bit.
If you would like to use the template please click here.

Guess what I used scraps on this project too as I have a box and a carrier bag full.

Apart from using the template I didn't do much, added some faux stitching, a rub on heart I had spare. LOL I have just noticed my birds dont have any eyes - oh well never mind - dont they say love blinds you?

I had a little issue with the stamping as you maybe able to tell. First off I stamped the "Love" in white but my white pad is starting to dry out and I don't have a re-inker (boohoo). The image wasn't very good so I stamped over in Black, it looks ok looks like it has a little white shadow back ground. I didn't have a stamp for the birds section so I cheated as I don't have very stylish hand writing (my writing looks alot like Verdana font!). I wanted script so I printed out the word in Abbeyline font and used tracing paper to get it onto my card. Then I wrote over with a white gel pen hey presto!

Sorry alot of writing and not alot of pictures on this blog.

Paper Flowers

I'm sick with the cold today so haven't ventured out of the house, so I thought I'd make some cards.
At the minute I am obsessed with these little 4x4" cards and Kraft Cards stock.

I have seen alot if different forms of paper flowers so I thought I'd give it ago.

This is what a came up with:

I think there quite cute but still haven't got the knack for distressing yet, plus I need to get some glimmer mist. I think once I have someone I will try and make some material flowers - I think the dryer sheets would be cool to make some with once sprayed with the glimmer mist.
I also want to try the grunge roses that Tim Holtz does but I don't have any modge podge to make the paper a bit more flexible. Here a tutorial which Marion (apieceofcraftdotcom)does and she make it look so easy.
On another note - My diet!!
I got weighed and I had put on 7pound since November (barring in mind I was in Florida in Nov and we have had Christmas/new year). I am back to see the dietitian on 4th March so I have to loose this before I go see her or she will take my tablets off me :-(
Adam won me a Wii at work so I am going to be using this every night and no more take aways at work so it is salads and soup all the way.
Wish me luck x
